Eat, Drink & Think Like…Beethoven
Love Elegies: Beethoven Kaffekonzert is part of Eat, Drink & Think Like … Beethoven in cooperation with 92YTribeca.
Proud and touchy from the start, Beethoven grew increasingly prickly as deafness forced him into internal exile. Yet he also had a boisterous sense of humor and an eye for women, and he spent many afternoons at his favorite Viennese coffeehouses, eating, drinking and chatting with acquaintances. ERC’s mini-concert is part of 92YTribeca’s Eat, Drink & Think Like…Beethoven. Join us for an in-depth look into Beethoven and his world, beginning with a lecture by music historian Harvey Sachs, author of The Ninth: Beethoven and the world in 1824, followed by ERC’s Beethoven Kaffekonzert. Then learn about Viennese Kaffeehaus culture from Austrian chef Kurt Gutenbrunner while you taste historically accurate pastries and drinks.
