Paul Leach is a Distinguished Engineer at Microsoft, where he has been since 1991; currently, he works on security for Microsoft Windows. Mr. Leach holds 35 US patents and is the author or co-author of 2 technical books and 10 Internet standards, including that for HTTP/1.1, the protocol used by the World Wide Web. Mr. Leach received his undergraduate education in Computer Science at MIT.
In addition to serving on the board of Ensemble for the Romantic Century, Mr. Leach is on the board of the Seattle Symphony.
Mr. Leach’s musical experience is as a trumpet player; he played through high school and sporadically thereafter, including until recently with the Microsoft Orchestra. He has an avid interest in classical music, classical ballet, 19th century American art, philosophy, history and economics.
